Robot history.

The robot history page shows that robots have evolved over time. Students can research any of the subtopics.

Video galleries.

I have shown a selection of robots to illustrate that robots come in various forms and that they are becoming cheaper and more common.

Students can usefully research any of these robots because they are all significant in our world, and becoming more so. They could also do research about any robot they have seen in the news.

Students can also design their own robot. They should describe the job they want it to do, the size and shape it would need to be and the tools it would need.

Robot issues.

Students can do inquiry learning into the issues that robots raise in our society.

A good example would be the introduction of robot trucks into Australian mines. Boring jobs are certainly lost and more money goes to the mine operators, but what impact does the loss of this unskilled work have on our society? Does the creation of more skilled jobs in robotics lead to a smarter Australia?

A video about robot creation harming job creation can be found here.
