Robot Dragonfly.
This robot imitates a dragonfly because they fly so efficiently. Although this robot is small it can carry a high resolution camera that can be used to monitor many environments. This robot is complex but it is still cheap enough for an amateur to buy.

Robot Swarm.
Sometimes a group of robots must work together. Here is a bunch on nano robots doing just that.
3D printable robot.
Here is a 3D printed robot designed to be flexible enough to manoeuver under a door. Put a camera on the front and it becomes a spy robot. Notice how quickly it goes down the corridor, the makers say it can move at 20km / hour!
Robot Mule.
American soldiers must carry a lot of equipment, which slows them down. This robot mule is designed to do their carrying for them and it must mimic the living version by following its owner, or the mule in front and finding its way home if it is left alone.
WildCat.
WildCat is designed to be fast. It makes a lot of smoke, to be sure, but this is an early prototype. Look at the way it banks into corners, just like an animal. Applications have yet to be announced.
Robot Lawn Mower.
Robots are now cheap enough to have them help around the home and the video below shows a robot lawn mower.
The demostrator kicks the mower to show that it is tough. He shows the programming device that tells the robot what days to mow the lawn and then he sets the mower working.
This lawn mower bumps into a border at the flower bed, which shows that the robot has a touch sensor to allow it to move around objects. It follows the edge of the lawn by using a light sensor to monitor the difference in light reflected by grass and paving stones. But the robot also has a wire detection sensor so users can mark out the perimeter by burying a wire along the edge of the lawn.
Robot Vacuum Cleaner.
It looks like you can put a robot on your floor and forget all about vacuuming, but this robot is a small example of how the tools we use change the way we live. See the following 2 video clips.

Landing Curiosity.
Robots go where people cannot and space exploration is one of the things they do well. But getting Curiosity onto the surface of Mars took massive imagination, intense planning and nerves of steel.

Colonising Mars.
Robots will land on Mars and prepare a home for the people who arrive in 2023.
